Sizzling Refinement Arrives at the Ritz-Carlton

The arrival of Bourbon Steak at the Ritz-Carlton is more than just another restaurant opening; it is a sophisticated shift in the city’s culinary landscape. While the Queen City is no stranger to high-end grills, James Beard Award-winning Chef Michael Mina is introducing a level of culinary theater that feels entirely fresh. Instead of the traditional, dimly lit mahogany corners of yesterday’s steakhouses, this flagship concept brings a modern, high-energy polish to Uptown.

The magic starts with a process that sounds like a secret and tastes like an indulgence—the butter-poach. Long before a steak meets the wood-fired grill, it is slow-bathed in herbed, organic butter. This ensures that by the time the flame kisses the meat, the texture is consistently tender and the flavor is deeply locked in. It’s a signature Mina move that turns a standard ribeye into something closer to silk.

The experience is designed to be tactile and interactive from the moment you sit down. Rather than a standard bread basket, guests are greeted with a signature trio of duck fat fries, each paired with a unique dipping sauce to set a decadent tone.

The menu continues this momentum with tableside preparations, including a world-renowned tuna tartare mixed right before your eyes with ancho chili and sesame oil. It’s a nod to the era of grand dining, updated for a crowd that appreciates both craft and charisma.

Expected to debut in 2026, the space will serve as a versatile anchor for the city, equally suited for a high-stakes lunch or a late-night pour of a rare, small-batch bourbon. The bar program is particularly ambitious, aiming to house one of the most curated collections of spirits in the region. As our skyline continues to grow, Bourbon Steak arrives as a definitive statement on the city’s evolving taste, proving that the best way to celebrate the future is with a perfectly charred crust and a very cold martini.
