On a quiet winter morning high in the Engadine Valley, the air was as sharp and focused as the silhouettes emerging from the mist. Against the backdrop of the snow-dusted Alps, Saint Laurent Rive Droite unveiled its 2025 "Snow Edition"—a collection that proves Anthony Vaccarello’s vision of Parisian elegance is not confined to the city’s limestone boulevards, but is equally at home on the world’s most formidable peaks.

The reveal signaled an ambitious extension of the Rive Droite project, the house’s experimental arm that bridges the gap between high fashion and cultural lifestyle. Captured by photographer Henrik Purienne in an intimate, cinematic campaign, the collection feels less like athletic gear and more like a romantic escape—a narrative of mountain life where technical precision meets a quietly seductive edge.

What makes this debut particularly significant is its commitment to high-performance engineering. For the third consecutive season, Saint Laurent has joined forces with Zai, the legendary Swiss ski manufacturer known for its radical "reduction to the essential." Much like the craftsmanship found in a Saint Laurent atelier, Zai’s process is one of obsession: utilizing unconventional materials like stone, wood, and natural rubber to create skis that offer unparalleled speed and control. At approximately $12,500 a pair, these aren't just tools for the slope; they are handcrafted heirlooms of alpine design.

To underscore the collection’s focus on "living motion," the capsule moves beyond the wardrobe to curate the entire winter experience. "The goal is a symbiosis of movement and environment," the house shared. Whether it is the visceral glide of the Zai skis or the tactile luxury of a shearling-lined boot, the starting point is always the human form in pursuit of freedom.

According to Saint Laurent, the Snow Edition unfolds through three distinct pillars:

  • The Technical Uniform: Sculpted down jackets, streamlined ski pants, and unisex snowsuits in a signature monochromatic palette.

  • The Après Ritual: Ribbed cashmere turtlenecks, plush furry boots, and shearling duffles designed for life fireside.

  • The Winter Objects: Minimalist black wooden sledges, Eretic snowscoots, and high-gloss Salomon helmets that redefine winter play as high art.

The collection is a global exclusive, available only within the curated walls of Saint Laurent Rive Droite in Paris and Los Angeles, as well as select flagship locations in St. Moritz, Gstaad, and New York.

The "Snow Edition" represents the pinnacle of seasonal intentionality. It is a reminder that even in the harshest climates, luxury remains a matter of refined lines, exceptional materials, and the enduring power of a well-told story.
