The Surf Lodge: Where Endless Summer Grows Wings

ree

There are few places that capture the spirit of summer quite like The Surf Lodge. Born in 2008 on the edge of Fort Pond in Montauk, it has become more than a hotel—it’s a cultural moodboard where surf, music, and design collide. What began as a humble beachside stay has evolved into an icon of coastal cool, attracting artists, musicians, and those who understand that the best scenes are built, not branded. Its weathered decks, sunset concerts, and salt-streaked serenity still define the art of living well, East End style.

Each season, the Lodge reinvents itself with the ease of a perfect playlist—fresh faces, fresh collaborations, the same effortless rhythm. Its signature interiors—whitewashed wood, woven textures, and artful imperfections—set the tone for a community where design and soul meet. Over the years, the property has partnered with brands like CB2 and Sydney Evan, turning poolside patios into pop-up galleries and limited-edition collections that feel as fleeting as a Montauk sunset.

But the story doesn’t end when the season fades. The Surf Lodge’s winter alter ego, The Snow Lodge, brings that same bohemian ease to Aspen, inside The St. Regis—where après-ski turns into art, music, and candlelit dinners under snow-dusted pines. With the St. Regis’s owner expanding holdings in nearby Snowmass, there’s talk that this mountain chapter could soon become something more permanent. We’ll be watching—and quietly hoping—it does.

Back in Montauk, 2025 marked another high note. A collaboration with The Ned’s members’ club brought a swirl of private dinners, vineyard tastings, and wellness activations to the property, while the summer concert lineup once again drew the who’s who of coastal creatives. The Surf Lodge even extended its partnership with Land Rover Defender, cementing the SUV as the unofficial ride of Montauk’s golden hour—a perfect match for a brand built on freedom with polish.

What keeps The Surf Lodge so magnetic isn’t its celebrity glow or seaside setting—it’s its ability to evolve. From surf to snow, beach to mountain, it’s found a way to stretch the season without losing its soul. The Surf Lodge isn’t just a destination anymore—it’s a mood, a movement, and a moment we’re all still chasing.

After all, some summers never really end.
